The creation of this Principal Advisory Council provides an opportunity for our principals to offer improvement ideas and feedback on current or proposed processes and initiatives in an effort to provide exceptional service to the entire Securities America family.

The Council meets annually to brainstorm to provide feedback to leadership on strategy, tactics and marketing messages. Council members serve a 3-year term and represent a diverse mix of business, geographic region, gender and backgrounds.

Securities America recognizes assistants are the backbone of our industry. That's why we established the Sales Assistant Advisory Board. This provides an opportunity for assistants to offer improvement ideas and initiatives to SAI from our front line customers.

 Margene Shullaw, Assistant of the Year 2019, Securities America

Margene was nominated by her firm’s partners, who said their clients and their team adore her and respect her greatly. She runs an office of 10 people and trains staff on her firm’s process, technology and story. When Second Opinion Partners joined Securities America, Margene ensured 1,500 accounts were repapered during her maternity leave and return to work. And last year, when the firm moved to a different version of Sales Force, Margene worked several late nights to make sure the transition went well. Partner Nicole Mayer said, “I have yet to meet anyone more caring and thoughtful, who always goes above and beyond for our clients. Margene is the one responding to a client email at 10 p.m.” Margene has earned the Series 6 & 63 FINRA licenses, has taken all the classes Securities America offers assistants and serves on Securities America’s Sales Assistant Advisory Board.

 David Blaydes, Shining Star 2019 Securities America

David is the president and founder of RPI – Financial Life Planners, which works with individuals going through a job or life transition to provide a plan-based roadmap to help them live their best life with financial stability. David appreciates Securities America’s size and values. “As a broker-dealer, it is large enough to provide all of the services we need to be successful in this industry, along with Midwestern values making it a pleasure to work with,” he said. David’s recommendations to other financial professionals earned him the Shining Star Award for the highest number of qualified financial professionals referred to Securities America.


 Tina Boeving, Outstanding Principal 2019 Securities America

Since joining SAI in 2017, Tina has consistently ensured her reviews and approvals are in line with current policies and procedures and are completed in a timely fashion. Any follow up or request for additional information from the Home Office Supervision team is met with a quick and thorough response. She is also a consistent resource for her reps and their administrative staff, as she is aware that an informed administrative staff is important to ensure compliance. Every Thursday, she also writes a Thursday Tip, which provides advice on best practices or notifies reps of important Compliance policies, procedures or upcoming items. In 2019, she joined Securities America’s Principal Advisory Council, where she has been both an active participant in discussions and a consistent volunteer in projects.

 David Blaydes, Chairman of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners Naperville, IL

Appointed by the Mayor of Naperville, the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners (BOFPC) is responsible for selecting and appointing qualified candidates for the positions of Police Officer and Firefighter/Paramedic. The board is also responsible for the promotional process for the Fire Lieutenants and Captains and Police Sergeants, including the testing and selection processes. The BOFPC conducts disciplinary hearings or appeals of disciplinary action in the Fire and Police Departments.

Scott Brown, Wheaton IL City Councilman 

Congratulations to Scott Brown, who was elected to 4 year term on the Wheaton IL City Council in May 2021. The non-partisan City Council exercises policy-making and legislative powers of the City, including adopting ordinances and resolutions, approving the City’s annual budget and enacting tax levies.
